RAVEN – BATH

Raven

FIRST VISIT: SATURDAY 6 SEPTEMBER 2014

The Raven is one of Bath’s pre-eminent ale houses. It’s a small space but there is a larger area upstairs. There were quite a few cask beers up for grabs but most of them were a bit trad for my trendy tastebuds so I ordered pint of St Austell’s Korev. It’s a decent stab at a lager but not the most exciting of brews. I had a beer-related chat with some old geezer who was sitting at the bar. I’ve no idea what we discussed but he smiled and laughed a lot so I can only assume we were in agreement. There were no seats downstairs or upstairs so we had to stand. It was very hot so we decided to take our drinks outside. We encountered a sign that said no drinks were allowed outside. We stood in the doorway and quickly downed our beers. We could no reason to hang around any longer than necessary.
